Just north of the Windhelm is the unbearably cold and nearly inhospitable glacial coast. The icy vistas can be viewed from any of the many cliffs and slopes that line the coast. Snow blankets the earth in this place like frosting on a cake. Horker's and other apex mammals roam the dots of islands and sheets of ice in search of food. Even in this cold, harsh, and remote place, humanity can be found. Ship-wrecks occasionally occur in this place. The lonely ships often drift too close to the shore, and are torn asunder by teeth-like rocks. Goods and men are cast into the sea and often end up here. Ship-wrecks aren't the only way humanity can be found in this place. Poachers. Poachers see places like this as gold mines. The tusk and meats of the Horker fetch a shimmering septim for the poacher. The poacher's pay is only one arrow, only one spear thrust away.
Sakez'k, however, is here for another reason. He comes in search of a hermit.

During Sakez'k's travel's through Skyrim he's heard countless accounts of the hermit who lives in a cave north of Windhelm. This hermit was apparently once a powerful mage from the college of winterhold who dug himself out a cave to do his research in. I supposed their are less rules about ethics out here in the cold tundra Sakez'k thought, as he climbed down an icy cliff. The bone chilling wind penetrated right through the furs that blanketed the inside of Sakez's armor. While they might have been ineffective, he couldn't imagine how much colder it would feel without them. Sakez, when he was about two thirds of the way down the cliff decided to drop. The fall wasn't too far and the snow dampened the fall greatly. He pushed himself out of the literal feet of snow and looked out at the tundra. A few horkers moved in the distance, but this area was empty. Well, now to just... go north. The cave was described to him as "carved from a glacier out in the waste" there were at least a hundred glaciers out here, but that didn't stop him. Sakez dragged his knee deep legs through the snow, until he reached the icy plate that was the beginning of frozen water, and the end of snowy land. He peered over the horizon once more before pushing forth.

When returning to the sanctuary he was given a marked map and a letter. The letter was signed by the letter A and requested a communication upon a contract at the marked location. Urwravelling the map revealed a dotted location north of Windhelm. This marked location was not only deep within the East March tundra but it was also anonymous. Edwyn had to wonder how busy everybody else must've been for him to get such a shit contract. Three days later Edwyn had found himself trudging through the snow in search of a "glacial cave".... Sakez'k traveled knee deep in the snow. Eventually the snow started to build up on his scales forming a thick layer of frost. His fangs chattered as he lifted his fingers to cast a spell. "Belore!" The ice melted and his freezing flesh was refreshed by a flame cloak. The flames quickly warmed his flesh and he was instantly relieved of the intense cold that once plagued him. That's better. Before long there wasn't much more snow, but now there was nothing but floating plates of ice. Thick and immobile the thick sheets of ice were like stepping stones to travel from one ice-berg island to the next. Sakez'k's talons provided great traction against the ice. Using his talons as anchors, Sakez'k continued to travel across the ice hopping a bit between different plates as he went.
After a bit of traveling, he started to hear things. The sound of a crying baby, bubbling lava, a roaring crowd. All sounds that are completely foreign to a place like this. What in the hist is going on here? As he continued the sounds started to become louder. Over the horizon he saw an ice-burg unlike the rest, there was a single hole in the side with light pouring out from the inside.

The unforgivable cold was starting to scratch at the back of Sakez'k's mind and his flame cloak will only last him so long. He started to move quicker toward this glacier with light pouring from the 'window'. As he dragged his feet across the ice and got closer to the ice burg the sounds became more clear. This place was a tavern. A tavern here? Of all places? Realizing that this was possible somewhere to rest in this unforgiving place Sakez'k picked up the pace. The idea of warmth, food, drink, and wenches inspired him to move faster. He imagined the feeling of the heart flame in the center bathing him in comfort as he entered. Ohhhh come on! He got closer and closer. He was close enough to where he could make out words being spoken from inside. I can almost taste the brandy! He circled around the burg until he found a wooden door with a sign next to it. The words were worn off by the wind and ice. Without hesitation Sakez'k opened the door and-
The hollow ice burg was empty. Except for one thing, a single bundle of cloth. After a moment it became obvious what was inside the bundle. The cries bounced off the walls of the chamber. W-what? Sakez'k immediately picked up the child and pulled away the cloth to look at it. Behind the linen that provided little warmth was a infant baby. It was obvious that it was no mer. Who could have left their child out here? The baby looked up at Sakez'k and continued to cry. Tears streamed down its little little face. It was cold, it was uncomfortable. "You poor thing." Sakez'k cradled the creature in his arms. What do I do now? This was obviously no hermits hideout, the hovel was empty, but how did this child get here? How has it survived out here alone? While Sakez'k pondered this, something was lurking outside the hovel...

[attr="class","itdscroll"] Fifteen hours had been spent journeying through the tundra. Edwyn required little sleep and sustenance; therefore, he found no hesitation in constant travel. Checking his map Edwyn had been coming from the eastern side of the glacial hole. Drudging his way over a snow-capped hill Edwyn's eyes flickered upon the sight of a gleaming light. This light pierced through the storm almost as if it called the vampire.
Unusual that a bright light would call forth a creature of the night, yet in this exception Edwyn had to know. He stole forwards attempting to conceal himself within the storm. Pushing through the storm the light had become less blinding and the man noticed a glacial cave. He had hoped this is where the map was to take him. As if stepping within some sort of barrier Edwyn began to hear piercing howls of pain. His mind was assaulted by cries for help cast aside by intense thrashing.
Drawing his blade the man sprinted towards the cave. Throwing all his weight forward he attempted to kick the door down....

Edwyn the brave and valorous assassin approached the hovel as it floated like a ghost, the only light in a place shrouded in darkness. He was curious about such an unusual site and went to investigate it, like anyone would. Edwyn kicked at the door with his experience and strength behind his foot. The flimsy wooden door shattered into a thousand pieces. The shards and splinters of wood shot everywhere into the hovel.
While Edwyn was making his way through the tundra and day was becoming night. Sakez'k was active. This hovel was empty and this child would surely die without warmth. Sakez'k desperate to preserve this child's life removed the furs around his neck and in his armor and jury-rigged a blanket. He wrapped the child in this blanket and laid it gently against the ice floor. Supplies were always a rarity no matter where you went in Skyrim. It's hard to even get supplies when you're in the city, let alone out in the tundra. Luckily, Sakez'k prepares for this type of situation. He poured out the contents of his bags. In a few of them, spare sticks and tinder were stored. Sakez'k gathered the bits and pieces of wood and lit them with a flame spell. The child was now sufficiently warm and so was Sakez'k. The chilling winds outside started to pick up and the sun started to set. Looks like I'm trapped here. This child would freeze solid if I took him out there... I supposed I'll be spending the night here. As adventurer of these parts, Sakez'k was equipped with a bedroll specifically for these types of situations. He unrolled it and tucked himself and the child inside. "Don't worry, I'll keep you safe."
And that's when the door was kicked down. Shards of wood sprayed into the room, some of which bounced off of Sakez'k. In an instinctive flurry, Sakez'k grabbed the child, rolled into the corner, and drew his sword. The confused cry of the awoken baby bounced off the walls and mixed with the sound of howling wind. "Who goes there?"

[attr="class","itdscroll"] All for naught, as the door crashed to the floor Edwyn was greeted by an Argonian. The wails had left the man's mind and he could hear the light cooing of a baby. Without saying a word Edwyn searched around for a moment. He twisted and turned himself around in circles in search of his contract giver. Turing back towards the Argonian he wondered... Could this man be the one.... no.... that.... that doesn't make sense.
A stark step forward put Edwyn in front of the mage, "Ahem-- do you call upon Sithis?" These words would be accompanied by sounds of howling wind and the crackling of a flame. Edwyn's weight shifted along with his armor, the vampire stood awaiting a response...

As the stranger entered the hovel so suavely, Sakez'k held the child tightly in his arms. Then those words, those words triggered something in him. 'Do you call upon Sithis'. Sakez'k has heard little of the dark brother hood, but his parents were not only natives to black marsh but were also thieves... the Shadow scale are notorious to him. "Sithis?" Sakez'k sheathed his blade. "I am no patron of the night mother, but I am an... acquaintance of the guild." This assassin must be on a contract... haven't I seem him somewhere before? Memories of a starved vampire on the streets of wind helm flush into Sakez'k's mind. He remembers the dark figure of a stranger in robes like the ones before his eyes. He also remembers the distant screams he heard that night before. My mind must be playing tricks on me. "Fancy robes? You a mage or something?" Sakez'k was being very obviously coy, he knew criminals well, and assassins tend to look like thieves with extra knives.
*these actions take place during/before/after your reflective dialog*
Sakez'k's new adopted child started to grope and pull on the sanguine sash that was strung across his plate-mail. That gives me an idea little fella. Sakez'k took a sheet of cloth from his items and tied the infant to his torso, nice and snug. The child was now tightly fastened to his body. Maybe we can get a move-on now. Maybe I can get you somewhere safe, who knows where your parents are at, I bet they're worried sick.

[attr="class","itdscroll"] Acquaintance.... hmmm I know little of acquaintances of the dark brotherhood. Edwyn stammered for a moment, his stomach tumbled and he could feel the pulsation of energy. The argonian's pulse was steadfast, his blood was viscous and thick. Argonian blood was distinct in taste, it was one that Edwyn would soon come to crave infinitely... Looking down Edwyn began to pay more attention to the child. "Sooooo, have you seen an older man around this area. Or was he within this encampment before you came. I'll have you know if you struck him down I'll kill you where you stand."

This was odd, the snow was so intense outside of the icy hovel it would require enhanced hearing to pick up these sounds. Turning his back to the lizard Edwyn unsheathed his blade. He slowly stepped forwards with his weapon at his side. Approaching the door there was yet another large gust of wind that collided with the shack.
At this moment a large man clad in dwarven armor burst into the doorway. He had plowed into Edwyn sending the man back a few feet. Knelt down on the ground with his sword in hand. Edwyn looked up at two smaller men standing on each side of the dwarven armored adversary. Standing up straight the vampire readied his blade.

Much had happened since Sakez'k decided to become conscious of his surroundings. There was that numbing question "Where is the hermit?" In truth Sakez'k had no idea where the hermit was, or if he even existed, but before he even had a chance to explain the situation Dwarven clad strangers burst into the hovel. These types of people don't burst into place just to say hello, they must be bandits. Sakez'k didn't like to take risk and these strangers were screaming risk.
Magic started to bubble within Sakez'k he hummed a low tone as he focused his energy into his hands then let out a fireball from each of them. The fireballs shot across the room like bullets until they collided with the two stunted bandits. The bandits were both engulfed in flames and were launched right out of the door that they came through their fate was unknown.
"Ha!" Sakez'k drew his blade and pounced in front of the largest bandit. "My steel will be your demise villain." The bandit heaved his great-axe over his head and slammed it unto the ice where Sakez'k would have been before he barely rolled away.
